"The Mayan Collection 2012" 2012 is officially the year of the Maya. Today, the Mayan calendar myth is already in the news, but next year this will be continuous. Like the milenium story with Y2K, this story is will be getting just as much attention.
The end of time does not mean that the earth explodes and disappears into a black hole, but a long period is concluded and a next period begins at a higher level. The Mayans describe Dec. 21, 2012 as a transition to a new, more conscious world. A world of change, rebirth and harmony, in which we get closer to nature and to a more respectful use of our natural resources.
Trendwatcher Jacco La Gasse (Bruges, Belgium) sees the making of Mayan statues by descendants of the ancient Indian population in Mexico as follows: "The local people in Mexico are able to support their families and provide a dignified means. To me it seems that the circle the Maya is round again. It is the start of a new beginning!" |
